Long ago I was inspired by a little cottage I saw in Mendocino, California, and saved the photo I took of it, because I knew I would want to paint the state of bliss I felt for it someday. I could only imagine the majestic view of the blue, Pacific Ocean, as far as the eye could see, from this humble. hilltop home.
I’ll use this small, quick watercolor study as a reference for a possible, future oil painting. The photos I take are so important to my personal painting process, never to use as reference to paint from, but to take me back to the moments of joy felt for the idyllic scenes I am blessed to see.
